I don't make mistakes, do you?

Check out my latest article...

Click here to read 'I don't make mistakes, do you?'

ALOL!

Ok, it's quite possible that 'alol' has already been around and I simply haven't heard of it. Do you know when you come up with an absolutely brilliant idea and think you've stumbled on to something for which you might gain a tad bit of recognition, only to discover that 12 people have already thought of it, you're NOT original, and they are making 14 bazillion dollars a week off the idea?

Anyway, that may, in fact, be the case with alol. Regardless, I'm writing here in an attempt to 'record' my 'invention' (alol).

Ok...what the heck is alol? Alol means actually laughing out loud. I, like many of you, am guilty of typing lol, even when I'm not l'ing ol. I understand that lol is corny and for 'avatards' (another phrase that I thought I coined, but in fact was preceded by someone as clever as, but not as slow as, myself) however, using terms like lol and brb become a way of life when a person types on the internet as much I do.

So, there you have it. Feel free to use alol as much as possible. If it shows up randomly in conversation with someone I've never talked to, at least I can choose to believe that it was I who started one of the latest internet legacies. :P

Note: I've just discovered that ALOL is NOT on the urban dictionary. I, therefore, am claiming ownership there now!

I Squidoo, Do you?

Create a Squidoo Page to Earn Money, Advertise your Business, or Both!

Squidoo is a great place where anyone can easily set up a web page on any topic, including personal interests, business ventures, affiliate marketing, or anything else! Squidoo makes it easy to upload pictures, display videos, connect to eBay auctions, CafĂ© Press shops, and everything on Amazon. Not only do you earn part of the revenue from affiliating, Squidoo also shares part of it’s ad revenue with you.

Create a Squidoo Lens Now

A Squidoo page is called a ‘lens,’ and creators of lenses are called ‘lensmasters.’ Squidoo starts you right out with a page to create your lens, with the opportunity to add a couple keywords, give it a title, and choose a category. If this seems intimidating, which I’ll admit it was for me, you can start off by checking out other people’s lenses, to get an idea of what’s available to you. Either way, whatever you create can be modified once you’re inside your Dashboard, so don’t worry too much about what you enter on the first couple of pages. You’ll have the opportunity to add SO much more to it.

Once you’ve gone through the first couple of screens, click ‘publish my page now.’ This will take you to the next page where you’ll name the actual link for the page. This is the only thing you’ll never be able to change. Squidoo handily fills in a suggestion for you, and it’s likely the best option to simply accept it. Once you’ve clicked all the way through, and published your page, you’ll want to go to the Dashboard. From there you can add more text modules, fun sticky notes for important statements, modules for selling products from Amazon and eBay, voting modules for links and videos, links to Twitter, and so much more. You can always make changes, so play with it as much as you like.

Check out my pages to get ideas
Check out my lens

Inside the Dashboard, the My Lenses tab gives you a list of all your lenses with options to edit, label, and even delete. You can also check stats, approve comments, update your profile and look at your favorited lenses from the Dashboard. Create many new lenses, admire those in the Top 100, scope out the Lens of the Day, and learn more about the great opportunities of being a lensmaster at SquidU.

Squidoo takes a bit to get the hang of, and it takes a bit for your pages to catch on. Use all your connections, including the buttons on your actual Lens, to promote your page to places like Twitter, Delicious, Facebook and Myspace. Enjoy increasing revenue from your own advertising and affiliate sales, or shared revenue from Squidoo’s advertising and affiliate programs.

The best advice I can give is to check out other lenses before you decide to get started. This way, you’ll get a picture of just how many options you have to display those things about which you are so passionate. Whether it’s Krispy Kreme donuts, Metallica, your aunt’s hand-knitted mittens, or your Clixsense affiliation, make a lens. It’s cool, it’s fun, it’s easy, and you’ll make a little money for your efforts.

Sign up for Squidoo and start earning money doing something fun!

‘Save a whole load of money’ for Christmas

Do toys ever really lose their appeal? Our children love toys, but don’t we get just as excited shopping for them now as we did receiving toys as kids? I know I’m not a kid anymore, but I can spend hours in the Toy Store pressing buttons on gadgets, pulling strings on talking dolls, and dreaming of how many things I could build with a 49,000 piece Lego set!

Save Buckets has millions of products, cheap toys, and other unusual gifts displayed in their online store. Find great great and thoughtful gift ideas for any number of occasions, including birthdays, Christmas, Weddings and other special days. Get Teddy Bears, Novelty and Sporting gifts, Personalized gifts, and special experience gifts like spa treatments, makeovers, and hotel packages.

But let’s talk about toys. Let’s talk about cheap toys. The difference between shopping online at Save Buckets, and shopping at your local toy store, is not only price, but online at Save Buckets, each product has its own space. Rather than being crowded on shelves of other toys, where the best items might be missed because they are less expensive, and not prominently displayed, you can find neat, exciting, and cheap toys on every page. At Save Buckets, you’ll find products from Dora the Explorer, Hot Wheels, V-Tech, Hannah Montana, and more.

Or how about one of the most popular items for Christmas, the Wii Fit with Wii Balance Board! Comparison shop for great electronics products for the whole family. Save buckets displays the lowest prices for Wii Fit with Wii Balance Board side by side, so you can make the best choice for your dollar. Another great thing about Save Buckets is the ability to negotiate. If you see a product that you like, but don’t want to pay the cost, you can ‘make an offer’ and Save Buckets will let you know when that item arrives within your price range. How sweet is that?

Get the Mario Kart + Wii Wheel,Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock (with Wireless Guitar Controller, or even the Wii Fit Mega Bundle, all at grand savings.

Not convinced you need a Wii Fit? Check out this story Is Work Killing Me? - Wii in an Unhealthy Workplace. Love the T-Shirt!!!! :P This is a comical post from an even more comical blog called The Pasty Muncher. Don’t you LOVE the internet?!?!?!?

So anyway, I advise you to go and comparison shop for great gift ideas, and cheap toys at Save Buckets. Get a Wii or another super great, super sought after, and super cheap electronic, toy or, really, anything else you can think of! Enjoy….

Are you a product of the 80s?

Well, if you are, you've probably heard of Hair Bands!! The wanna-be metal groups (some of which actually pulled off the metal part!) that we so loved back in the day! Poison, Cinderella, Ratt, Motley Crue... even KISS, Metallica, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden. Well....if you loved this kind of music, I present to you

80s Music - Hair Bands, Glam Bands, Metal Bands

This is a cool page with videos, history, bios, pics, etc. (I made it, so I know it's cool!) Thanks for checking it out and if you would be so kind, leave me a rating at the top of the page!

Thanks and ROCK ON!

Blogger Talk Online

If you've been following this blog, you'll probably have already guessed just how much I like to find money opportunities. I like even more to share them with my readers, because I know just how excited I get when I find something legitimate. I discovered a blog today full of money opportunities, but some are legitimate, some are not. Firstly, I wasn't excited about the pop-up I received immediately upon clicking in. And being that I have my website with a directory of legitimate paid survey sites, I immediately recognized some things that I wouldn't get involved in. However, at Blogger Talk Online | Make Money Online | Work At Home I did see a few things I plan to look into. There are some legitimate opportunities on this blog, however, be very careful if you plan to check it out. Never, ever pay for the opportunity to take a survey, or sign up to make money. That kind of thing is just not real.

The lost pages

This blog The lost pages, Adult content, funny has quite some funny jokes. I laughed out loud several times. A new spin on some jokes you've heard a thousand times. My favorite of the funnies was this:

How can you lift an elephant with one hand?
A. It is not a problem, since you will never find an elephant with one hand.

Remember these? Who's buried in Grant's tomb? If a plane crashed, where would you bury the survivors? There's many of these types of jokes on The lost pages, Adult content, funny that I've not read before. I got quite a chuckle.

As goes with my quest; he also has a post entitled '...Blissful Life.' Here you'll find tips to get your 'living in the flow.' That kind of stuff always gets me feeling the joy. What an intricate life of pathways we live.

He says this 'Have you settled for that sad story? Please don’t!' Go check it out:

Lovefooled Ethanol

I stumbled upon a blog today that reminded me a bit of this one (hopefully he doesn't take that as an insult...lol) It's here at littlepinoy. I was looking it over and found several things that interested me. If you like this blog, it's likely you'll find something of interest when you go and visit Ethanol.

First, I discovered a link to yet another place to write and get paid. I'll let you discover it at his blog, just in case he has an affiliate link. I love discovering new ways to make money, so thanks to Ethanol for that!

Second, he's written about a dream that he had. How much do I love simmering over the interpretation of dreams? Well, if you've been following this blog, and some of the places I talk about, you'll know that I love, love, love it. Sounds to me, from the post, that he's having an inner struggle with some great restrictions that have been put upon his happiness.... but I might need to know more to determine whether he's putting those restrictions on himself, or if someone else is hindering his style. :) No charge...LOL.

There's also some great info on the enviromentalist's perspective of the Obama victory, as well as a great article about Energy Vampires...wheee...

Check it out. The link again is this: littlepinoy.

How to Celebrate Universal Children’s Day

Universal Children’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, Universal Children’s Day is to be observed as a day of understanding and promoting the health, welfare, and well-being of all children across the globe. November 20th marks the anniversary of the day on which the General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of a Child, and the Convention on the Rights of a Child. Many countries choose to celebrate Universal Children’s Day on November 20th.

According to Wikipedia, the United States is one of only two countries that has not ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child. There are apparently several contradictions between the laws of the United States and the convention. (More information can be found here.) The United States does make attempts to recognize a day called National Child’s Day. Each year it is proclaimed by the President on varying dates. Nevertheless, several independent organizations and companies in the United States choose to recognize Universal Children’s Day on November 20th.

Regardless of National Holiday status, or conflicting laws and regulations, each of us can choose to participate in events to commemorate this special day, and our children of the world. There are many things you and I can do to independently celebrate Universal Children’s Day, or join up with the many organizations who choose to honor children of the world on November 20th.

Most importantly, use this day to reflect on the fact that our children are important members of society. It goes without saying that they will one day grow up to be our leaders, co-workers, friends and neighbors. Use this day to celebrate your own children, the children in your community, and others by paying special attention, listening, giving a special treat, or simply recognizing the worth of a child.

On a broader scale, there are also many opportunities for you to recognize Universal Children’s Day. The Ronald McDonald House accepts donations at McDonald’s restaurants, as well as at their website, Ronald McDonald House Charities. A very small donation at NothingButNets.net gives mosquito nets to African refugees. Additionally, the UNICEF website is packed with information regarding children who need our help.

If money is not what you have to give, there are many other things you can do to commemorate Universal Children’s Day. A free e-card can be sent from 123 Greetings. There are activities and Worldwide games that can be played to teach children how their peers in other countries live each day. These ideas can be found on the UNICEF website by clicking here.

As you can see, Universal Children’s Day holds an important concept. Children are a source of life, creativity, humor, love, and light to the world. Honor them this year by contributing money, time, attention, or patience. Even the smallest effort can offer large rewards for a child.

Music anyone?

Check out Shop.com for music at http://www.shop.com/musica-a.shtml. Shop.com's musicSHOP features some hot music CDs from George Strait, Elliott Yamin, Seal, and Josh Groban, just to name a few.

There are a few things that I like about Shop.com's musicSHOP. First, I like the idea that they list all the places to buy each CD, in order, by price. That way, I can choose the best price, or most appropriate shipping method for my lifestyle. Of the listings I saw, many of the best offered free shipping, so one should keep that in mind when shopping around for great CD prices.

The other thing I like is musicSHOP's free music player. Not only can you hear great songs IN FULL, but each page of the player widget gives great information on the artist, including any merchandise giveaways, or contests currently being run (see George Strait's Classic Christmas for a link to win a guitar signed by George Strait.) Also shown are direct links to each artist's official website, any videos that might be online, and each artist's MySpace link.

Shop.com's musicSHOP seems like a neat place to find, and listen to music. Check it out, and I'll bet their selections change alot, so with that fact, plus all the other departments that Shop.com offers, I'm thinking the smart shopper in me will bookmark this one.

Zany Zodiacs Merchandise

ZanyZodiacs.com is now offering t-shirts printed by Printfection. T-shirts and other merchandise are customized with our Zany Zodiacs designs. Please check it out at Zany Zodiacs Printfection Shop.

Australian Cattle Dog

Here's an article I wrote for another website. I wanted to share it here, in case anyone is looking for this info. Enjoy!

The Australian Cattle Dog

The Australian Cattle Dog is one of the Herding group, as the breed has a history of being loyally devoted to its mission when controlling the movement of cattle. Australian Cattle Dogs are hardworking, powerful and agile. They have protective instincts, which were appropriate for assisting stockmen in harsh conditions, and are still used by ranchers, and farmers of today. Developed in Australia in the 1800s, this dog is surrounded by controversy over what breeds were actually used to create this small, yet muscular animal. Suspicions include Collies, Terriers, the Dalmatian, and the Dingo, just to name a few.

The Australian Cattle Dog can make the perfect pet, under the right conditions. This breed is extremely active, and must remain so in order to thrive in a family situation. An ideal setting would include ample room to run, and exercise, lots of attention from its owner, and a stable environment. This breed is said to be an excellent participant in such things as Frisbee and other ‘Dog Sports.’ Australian Cattle Dogs are extremely intelligent, but also protective, so as an owner, one must attempt to keep this dog in somewhat calm, and non-chaotic situations. When the animal senses a threat, or imminent danger to its owner or surroundings, it has the potential to become over-protective, or even fierce.

The Australian Cattle Dog’s coat is what is known as a double coat. The outer layer is short, and straight, while the undercoat is dense, and curly. This type of coat is ideal for keeping the dog safe in harsh weather conditions, although, an owner would not be wise to keep an Australian Cattle Dog outside for long periods. This breed typically sheds about once per year, making for minimal cleanup of dog hair, and as a smaller dog of between 30 and 50 lbs, and about 17 to 20 inches tall, a large inside area is not necessary.

There are some interesting facts about this breed. Australian Cattle Dogs are all born white in color, with either blue or red coloring coming in as they age. They are sometimes referred to as Red Heelers, Blue Heelers, or Queensland Heelers. They may also be referred to as ‘shadow dogs,’ as they love to be near their owners, and suffer greatly if regularly left alone for long periods.

Australian Cattle Dogs would be best suited in country homes, with no small children, and lots of stability. A home environment including working tasks, or energetic participation in sports and outdoor games would be idea.
